BGI (Building Global Innovators) is a Lisbon-based startup accelerator founded in 2010, originally as part of the MIT Portugal initiative. It focuses on supporting deep-tech ventures and startups, particularly in sectors like agrifood, cleantech, healthtech, digital innovation, and mobility. The accelerator's mission is centered around sustainability, helping startups create environmental, economic, and social impact through cutting-edge technology. Over its more than a decade of operation, BGI has accelerated over 335 startups, raising over €660 million in capital.
