Brandtech Ventures is the strategic venture investment arm of The Brandtech Group, the world's first 'brandtech' holding company founded in June 2015 by former Havas Global CEO David Jones as You & Mr Jones and rebranded to The Brandtech Group in January 2022. Based in New York, the Group helps global brands market better, faster and cheaper by combining owned operating companies, such as the generative-AI marketing platform Pencil, with a portfolio of strategic minority investments in the technologies most likely to reshape brand marketing. Brandtech Ventures invests at Seed, Series A and Series B across adtech, martech, generative AI, big data and analytics, AR/VR and the metaverse, influencer marketing and gaming. Its portfolio of roughly 26 named investments includes Niantic, the Pokémon GO creator the firm backed as one of the earliest external investors after its 2015 spinout from Google, alongside Crossing Minds, Zappar, Jivox, Automat, Elsy, VidMob, CreativeX, AI Foundation, Provenance and Pixlee-TurnTo. The Brandtech Group raised a $115M Series C in March 2024 at a $4 billion valuation from Fimalac and NendoLabs alongside Mousse Partners and Bansk Group, bringing total Group capital raised to roughly $373 million. Leadership includes founder and CEO David Jones, Global CFO Matthieu Pigasse, the former Lazard banker who joined in 2024, and Partner and Head of Emerging Technologies Rebecca Sykes. As a strategic investor rather than a lead, Brandtech Ventures pairs capital with the Group's operating platform to commercialise the next generation of marketing technology.
