Open Opportunity Fund

The Opportunity Fund, launched by SoftBank Group in June 2020, is dedicated to investing in Black and Latinx-founded tech companies in the U.S. The fund has built a community of 75 companies and invested over $100 million to date. In May 2023, they introduced Open Opportunity Fund 2, with a $150 million target, allowing additional limited partners and organizations to join SoftBank as investors. Notable companies in their portfolio include CapWay, Lendtable, and Eight Sleep, showcasing their commitment to supporting diverse founders. The Opportunity Fund aims to provide more than just capital; they offer access to a unique community and comprehensive support to help founders grow through all stages of their development. This initiative is part of SoftBank's broader effort to address the underrepresentation of Black and Latinx founders in the venture capital ecosystem and foster a more inclusive tech community.
